Distell has unveiled its 2021 collection of limited edition whiskies and we have them here for you to taste! All four and a couple Black Bottle Limited Editions to get you even more excited to be a part of this tasting!
This year’s release is made up of four bottlings, including malts from Bunnahabhain, Tobermory, and Deanston distilleries.
Tasting Date: January 18th, 2022 - 8:30pm EDT
Islay’s Bunnahabhain is releasing a 2011 Aonadh (meaning ‘union’ in Scottish gaelic). The 56.2% ABV blend of Sherry-matured and Port-finished whisky is described as “rich, creamy and subtly spicy.”
Isle of Mull’s Tobermory Distillery will launch two whiskies, e “sweet and ginger spiced” Tobermory 2004 Oloroso Cask Matured (55.9% ABV) and peated Ledaig 1999 Pedro Ximénez Cask Matured (55.6% ABV).
Deanston has unveiled a 2008 Oloroso Cask Matured whisky that has been bottled at 52.7% ABV and offers flavors of cherries, dark fruits, and gingerbread.
We will be tasting all four along with the Black Bottle Island Smoke and Black Bottle Double Cask, each bottled at 46.3%. I heard a rumor that the Double Cask has some 40+ aged Bunnahabhain in it!
“Each new expression showcases the very best of our single malt whisky portfolio here at Distell, passionately crafted by our distillery teams.” said Julieann Fernandez, master blender at Distell.
This will be a tasting you won't want to miss!
